Farmer's Market

Farmer’s Market: Greens and Mother’s Day cards

Elizabeth Farmer’s Market is today!

I’m featuring four brand new greeting cards. Two could be used as Mother’s Day cards, and two would be appropriate graduation cards.

Sara is featuring arugula, the green with a kick. Great for spicing up your sandwich. We’ll be giving away free samples. Sara will also have asparagus, spinach, lettuce, green onions, cilantro, radishes, turnip greens, and more. Not to mention the jams, jellies, sun-dried tomatoes, sage, grass-fed beef and lamb. See below for a picture of one of Sara’s gardens: long rows of fabulous greens!!

I’ll be handing out recipes for the Green Machine Smoothie:
In a blender, mix ½ cup of yogurt, ½ cup of milk, ½ cup of frozen fruit (your choice), 1 cup of spinach or kale, and 1 banana (fresh or frozen). Optional add-ins: a few ice cubes, a little honey, nuts or granola, or vanilla protein powder to taste. Blend til smooth and enjoy. Makes one large serving.

Come see us and all the other vendors! Elizabeth Farmers’ Market is every Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. You can find us on Hwy 20 in the parking lot of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
